Margaritas

while its rainy and cool today, warm weather was here and will be here again. nothing says summer like the perfect margarita.

the fewer ingredients the better really. use high quality ones–it makes a difference.

the following is a bulk recipe, meant to be shared, because margaritas are better with friends!

ingredients
6 cups tequila (1800 or better)
2 1/2 cups cointreau
3 cups fresh lime juice (lots of limes)
2 cups simple syrup (recipe below)
ice, salt, extra slices of limes
soda water (optional)

mix all ingredients together, chill and serve over lots of ice. salt the rim of your glass and add a splash of soda water if you want. add a slice of lime for garnish.

making simple syrup
4 cups water
2 cups sugar

boil water, add sugar. boil until sugar dissolves – about a minute. add zest of one lime. cool.
